The short answer: The useful work-from-home gift removes a daily annoyance: a laptop that needs more ports, a video call that drops on Wi-Fi, a modem that reboots when the lights flicker, or a phone that dies before the last meeting. Match one of those jobs. The deeper parts list is the home office and smart-home checklist. Offer amounts stay on Amazon.
Ask which annoyance is real
Remote workers already own a laptop. Another generic gadget is easy to get wrong. Four jobs cover most "I do not know what to get" cases:
| Annoyance | Gift on this page |
|---|---|
| One cable from the laptop is not enough for a monitor and accessories | Anker 332 USB-C hub |
| Calls freeze in the room where they work | A 25 ft Cat 6 cable, then the network guides if the room is farther than a cable can reach |
| The internet dies for several minutes after a short power blink | APC Back-UPS BE600M1 for the modem and router |
| The phone dies between the desk and the school pickup | Anker 321 Power Bank |
If the annoyance is the chair, the monitor arm, or the webcam, this page is the wrong list. Webcams have several ASINs for the same model name. The office checklist links the Logitech C920S listing we are willing to use. Buy that only from the checklist, where the variant note sits next to the button.
Anker 332 USB-C hub
The Anker 332 (5-in-1) adds HDMI, USB-A ports, a USB-C data port, and a USB-C pass-through charging input. Anker says the charging input is 100 W and that up to 85 W reaches the laptop. The USB-C data port does not output video, so a monitor uses the HDMI port.
It fits someone whose laptop has one free USB-C port and a desk with a monitor. It does not fit a desktop that already has ports, and it does not fit a laptop that needs two monitors unless you have confirmed this hub can do that. We are not claiming a dual-monitor setup.
Skip it if their current hub already does the job, or if the laptop charges by a different connector. Read the port list on the listing against the cable they already use.

A cable, before a new router
The Cable Matters snagless Cat 6 cable, 25 ft is the right gift when the router and the desk are in the same home and a cable can actually be run along a baseboard or through a doorway. Wired beats Wi-Fi for a standing video call. Twenty-five feet is not a whole-house solution.
If the office is on another floor, do not buy a longer random cable and hope. Read the home network gear guide and the router guide. Mesh and MoCA are different projects. We are not linking a MoCA adapter until the pack size and ASIN are confirmed. The office checklist explains why.

Battery backup for the modem, not the whole desk
The APC Back-UPS BE600M1 is a 600 VA battery backup. APC's datasheet describes it as 600 VA / 330 W, with outlets that are battery-backed and outlets that are surge-only, plus a USB charging port. For a gift, the job is narrow: keep the modem and router on through a short outage so a call does not die while the network reboots.
It is the wrong size story for a gaming PC, a laser printer, or a space heater. Plug the modem and router into the battery-backed outlets. Leave high-draw gear out. If you are not sure which outlets are backed up, the manual in the box and APC's page are the source. Our office checklist repeats that warning next to the same ASIN.

A power bank for the hours away from the desk
The Anker 321 Power Bank (PowerCore 5K) is a compact phone charger. It belongs in a work bag, not as a laptop battery. People who work from home still leave the house for school runs and errands. A dead phone is a missed two-factor prompt as often as it is a missed text.
Skip it if they already carry a pack, or if you are shopping for a laptop that needs a high-wattage charger. This is not that charger.

A small automation, only if they want it
A Kasa Smart Plug Mini 4-pack can turn a desk lamp or a monitor into a scheduled outlet. It is a nice extra, not the main gift, and only when they like setup projects. Kasa notes the EP10 uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. Details are in the beginner smart-home guide.
Who this list is for
Someone with a specific friction: ports, a flaky call, a modem that drops when the power blinks, or a phone that dies off the charger. You can name the friction without asking them to design their own gift.
Who should look elsewhere
- They asked for a chair, a lamp with a certain brightness, or a second monitor. Those need measurements this page does not have.
- The home's internet is slow at the modem, not just in the office. A cable will not raise the plan speed. Start with connected-home savings.
- You need the item the same day and have not checked delivery on the listing.
The gift guide has the other recipient pages. The Black Friday checklist is the sequence if you are waiting until late November. The deal check is the last pass on variant and returns.
Frequently asked questions
What are good gifts for remote workers?
A USB-C hub, a short Ethernet run, a small battery backup for the network gear, or a phone power bank. Pick the one that matches a problem they already complain about.
Will an Ethernet cable fix slow video calls?
It can, when the Wi-Fi hop is the weak part and 25 feet reaches the router. It cannot fix a slow internet plan. Test near the modem first, as the home network guide describes.
Is the APC backup big enough for a computer?
It is sized in this guide for a modem and router during short outages. Check the watt labels on anything else before you plug it into the battery-backed outlets. Do not assume it will run a desktop.
Which webcam should I buy?
Use the C920S section of the home office checklist, and confirm the ASIN. Several listings share that model name.
Do you show prices?
No. Confirm the offer on Amazon. We do not publish prices, percent-off figures, star ratings, or review counts.
